How many died while doing obsessed selfie shots? This young man proved that selfie can take one's life away.  
 
A report published by Excelsior (Mexican newspaper), a 21-year-old man, a native Mexican, accidentally shot himself to the head which ended his life while posing for a selfie with a gun loaded with bullets.  
 
This man was identified as Oscar Otero Aguilar who was having a drinking session with his friends named as Omar Abner Campos Vives and and “El Paco” in the northern part of Mexico City when the catastrophic event occurred.  
 
Oscar had a habit of taking selfies based on the observation from his Facebook account which revealed many images of him along with alcohol beverages and/or ladies. He also had selfie shots with luxury sports cars and big bikes as well as being part of a band.  
 
However, when he was trying to take a selfie with a gun aimed to his head while drinking, he accidentally pulled the gun trigger rather than the camera shutter. This incident killed him, being unable to upload his last and final selfie.  
 
The Ministry of Public Service also confirmed that it was an accident on Aguilar's part by not realizing that he was using a gun loaded with bullets.  
 
 
His friends also added that he was playing round with the gun when it suddenly went off and shot himself straight in his head that caused his death.

“I heard a gunshot, and then I heard somebody screaming and realized somebody had been hurt. I called the police straight away and when they arrived they found that he was still alive,” -Manfredo Paez Paez, neighbour</blockquote>
 
The emergency response team immediately went to the house to salvage the life of Oscar, but he died on the way to the hospital and declared as dead on arrival.  
 
His friends, Omar and "El Paco" was taken into custody by the authorities for further investigations.

General Santos City - Monday morning, August 4, 2014, ABS-CBN news reported a baby suddenly cried after she was declared dead and spent 15 hours inside a morgue. </center>

Her mother considers her baby as a "miracle baby" as she thought he was already dead so she decided to bring him to the morgue, but after 15 hours they discovered that the infant was still alive. </center>

Baby Aldrin was scheduled to be embalmed last Saturday, August 2, 2014, when he loudly cried which strongly showed that he is not dead. </center>

As per the police officer, he was the first one to hear the baby crying and he immediately uncovered the infant from being wrapped with white cloth so he could breathe and took him back to the hospital. </center>

Aldrin's parents really thought that he was already dead after taking off all his life support. </center>

</center>

The doctor who managed the case of this 'miracle baby' refused to be interviewed on cam. But he strongly believes that the baby no longer had a heartbeat when it was first brought to General Santos Doctor's Hospital last July 20, 2014. </center>

According to the medical records, this baby also has sepsis and pneumonia, but the pediatric ward personnel made clear that they did not declare that the baby was already dead at that time. </center>

It was the parents' decision to release the baby from the hospital because Aldrin was not moving anymore and hospital bills were already too high (P100,000). </center>

The latest report as of now, baby Aldrin is recovering and doing well while being admitted to a public hospital. </center>

MANILA -- Australian cuisine takes center stage during the “Flavors of the Land Down Under” promotion at the Diamond Hotel Philippines’ Corniche restaurant. Running for a limited time until August 10, the buffet features the culinary creations of guest Australian chef Steve Shrimski. 
 
Shrimki was a trainer and assessor for the Australian Training Framework, as well as teacher on cookery at the Western Sydney Institute. Since 2009, he has been residing in Cebu City as the owner and executive chef of Canvas Bistro in Ayala Cebu and Circa 1900 in Lahug, Cebu. 
 
He is also the preferred chef for AUSTRADE initiatives to promote Australia and New Zealand products by the Australian Embassy in the Philippines. 
 
“You will taste dishes with Australian indigenous ingredients,” the chef said, when asked about what makes the buffet interesting. 
 
Indeed, a lot of different tastes and flavors can be experienced at the food festival, like the strange and appealing Warrigal greens, which tasted of mint in the Oysters and Macadamia Nut Pesto. This is a perfect appetizer as the smoothness and natural salt of the oyster is accentuated by the creamy mouthfeel of the pesto, and balanced by the herby kick from the greens. 
 
Another local ingredient, the Bunya nut, which is a kind of pine nut native to Queensland, was used for the Warm Duck Breast Salad with Bunya Nuts and Aussie Merlot Vinaigrette. 
 
For the mains, a must-try is the Grilled Ostrich with Balsamic Honey Jus, perfectly cooked in the grill. While the meat has a somewhat beefy taste, it is actually low-fat and ideal for those that’s looking for a healthy alternative.

Other mains include the Roo Ragu with Fussili Pasta, the Lemon Myrtle (an herb that tastes like kafir lime) and Beer Battered Fish Fillets, and the Pepperberry Encrusted Aussie Beef Medallions, which used pepperberries that added a certain endnote that was almost herby instead of just peppery.

Meat lovers can dig into a big leg of Australian roast leg of lamb with native thyme, mint and garlic, the special roast beef, or the Australian beef tenderloin grilled to your likeness.</div>

For dessert, enjoy the Chocolate and Coconut Lamingtons, a dessert truly of Australian origin. This is a sponge cake dipped in chocolate, allowing the outer covering to absorb the chocolate, and then covered with desiccated coconut. This had just the right amount of sweetness and chocolate.</div>

Another dessert treat is the Lemon Delicious, which gives a bite of sponge, lemon curd and lemon cream with little chocolate crunch balls, for a great mix of acidic and sweet.</div>

MANILA - The Sandiganbayan First Division has ordered the suspension of Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr and Atty. Richard Cambe from their respective positions as Senator and Director III of the office of Sen. Revilla and from any other public positions they may have for 90 days.

MANILA - Former National Treasurer Leonor Briones on Friday claimed that President Aquino has over a trillion pesos in discretionary lump sums in the proposed P2.6-trillion 2015 national budget. 
 
It will be the same budget in a year when politicians will start preparing for the 2016 elections. 
 
In a statement, Briones expressed concern that the budget for 2015 might be mobilized in preparation for the 2016 elections, with practically half the budget estimated as lump sums and automatic appropriations. 
 
"This is similar to the 2012 budget that preceded the 2013 elections. The government cranks up spending for infrastructure and construction the year before elections. Concrete projects create the impression of growth, though it is a challenge to sustain this growth for the next years," she said. 
 
"In Philippine politics, elections are all about money. Government spending places incumbent politicians and their parties at an advantage over their opponents for the upcoming elections. Projects are credited to officials as part of their track record as the ruling parties would spend for projects in their allies' jurisdictions. Opposing parties can be deprived of this spending, putting them at a disadvantage," Briones added. 
 
Lump sums are budget items that are not detailed, such as the Special Purpose Funds in the General Appropriations Act. 
 
"Only P1.739 trillion is covered by the GAA. The rest are Automatic Appropriations and therefore, not scrutinized by Congress. The President's Special Purpose Fund is P378.603 billion, the Unprogrammed Expenditures is P123.056 billion, Internal Revenue Allotment is P389.860 billion, interest payments (debt servicing) is P372.863 billion," Briones said. 
 
"This does not include Malampaya Funds which is also automatically appropriated, and off-budget funds like the Motor Vehicles Users' Charge and those coming from PAGCOR," she added. 
 
"The presence of lump sums in the budget, especially for one that precedes the elections, makes public funds all the more vulnerable," Briones said. 
 
ABAD: NOT PORK BARREL 
 
Budget Secretary Florencio Abad allayed Briones' concerns. 
 
"She's always been saying that. I think she should just read how can calamity fund be pork barrel. How can pension and gratuity be pork barrel? These are not pork barrel," Abad said. 
 
The bulk of the 2015 national budget will be poured into 42 provinces in the country that the government identified as having the most number of poor families, high poverty incidence, and disaster prone. 
 
The 42 are: 
 
Apayao,  
Cagayan,  
Isabela,  
Ilocos Norte,  
Abra,  
Ilocos Sur, 
 
Benguet,  
Nueva Vizcaya,  
Pangasinan,  
Zambales,  
Pampanga,  
Aurora, 
 
Quezon,  
Rizal,  
Laguna,  
Cavite,  
Camarines Sur,  
Catanduanes, 
 
Northern Samar,  
Eastern Samar,  
Masbate, Iloilo,  
Antique,  
Negros Occidental,  
Cebu, 
 
Leyte,  
Southern Leyte,  
Bohol,  
Dinagat Islands,  
Surigao del Norte,  
Surigao del Sur, 
 
Agusan del Sur,  
Camiguin,  
Zamboanga del Norte,  
Zamboanga del Sur,  
Zamboanga Sibugay, 
 
Sulu,  
Lanao del Sur,  
Maguindanao,  
North Cotabato,  
Davao del Sur, and  
Sarangani. 
 
Some of these provinces, like Cebu, Pampanga, and Pangasinan, are known to be vote-rich. 
 
Abad, however said "[the 2015 budget] is a very rational budget aimed at the priorities of government. The budget is guided by budget priorities framework." 
 
"It's a performance-informed budget not only based on output but outcome… not dictated by partisan consideration," he said. 
 
The ruling Liberal Party is expected to field its own candidates for the 2016 presidential election. While the official campaign period begins February 2016, the political reality is that politicians prepare at least a year before the elections.
